Compassionate, Person Centered Counseling in Washington State

Hannah Stalter, LMHCA

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.

Hi, I’m Hannah, a Seattle native with a deep commitment to helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing journeys. I’ve spent much of my career working in community mental health, including in homeless shelters and permanent supportive housing, where I provided behavioral health case management and harm reduction support. Those experiences have grounded my practice in compassion, respect, and an understanding of the complex ways trauma and environment shape our lives.

As a trauma-informed and client-centered therapist, I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you—offering curiosity, honesty, and care—as you deepen your understanding of yourself and work toward the life you want to live. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where you can show up as your authentic self, explore your thoughts and emotions, and feel truly heard.

In our work together, we’ll focus on building a trusting and transparent relationship that allows for openness, immediacy, and growth. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, healing from trauma, or simply seeking to know yourself better, my goal is to support you in aligning your real-life self with who you want to be and what matters most to you.

I love traveling, hiking, concerts, videos games, and food!

Counseling Services

Please note that I am unable to accept insurance at this time.

I offer sliding scale for my services to help make therapy more accessible.
Sessions range from $20-$130 based on your income and financial situation.

  • Individual counseling is offered through 50-minute telehealth sessions in Washington State designed to support your unique goals, needs, and pace. Counseling may help you with:

    • Managing mental health symptoms

    • Navigating relationship or interpersonal challenges

    • Addressing alcohol or substance use concerns

    • Building self-esteem and confidence

    • Coping with life stressors and transitions

    • Improving overall mood and emotional well-being

  • I believe mental health care should be accessible, and that financial situations are not one-size-fits-all.

To honor this, I use a sliding scale that considers both financial privilege and personal financial experience.

Together, we will work collaboratively to identify a fee within the sliding scale that feels sustainable and reflective of the client’s current circumstances.

This approach is grounded in trust, equity, and the understanding that our financial realities can shift over time.

  • $110 - $130 per session
You are comfortably able to meet all of your basic needs. You may have expendable income, savings, and regular access to healthcare. Paying at this rate supports others in accessing counseling at lower rates.

    $80 - $110 per session
You can meet your basic needs with some financial flexibility. You may have moderate debt or financial stress, but can afford occasional recreation or time off without significant hardship.

    $50 - $80 per session
You experience some financial strain. You may have limited savings, restricted expendable income, or need to plan carefully for expenses. Paying at this level supports your access to counseling while maintaining sustainability for the practice.

    $20-$50 per session
You face ongoing financial stress or instability. Meeting basic needs may be challenging at times, or you may rely on assistance programs. This rate is reserved for clients who would otherwise be unable to access therapy.

Areas of Focus & Approach

My counseling style is trauma-informed, person-centered, and rooted in harm reduction and feminist frameworks. I believe in meeting you where you are, honoring our lived experience, and working collaboratively to create meaningful change.

I work with adults navigating a wide range of experiences, including:

  • Anxiety & Depression

  • ADHD & Neurodiversity

  • Substance use and addiction (harm reduction approach)

  • Relationship and interpersonal challenges

  • Self-confidence and self-worth

  • Gender and identity exploration

  • Over-intellectualizing or difficulty feeling emotions

  • Systemic challenges such as poverty, discrimination, or homelessness

While I support clients with any diagnosis, I don’t claim to be an expert in every one; I believe the true expertise lies within you.

My therapeutic approach integrates DBT, CBT, ACT, & Person-Centered Therapy to provide flexible, individualized support.
